Define the actual driving task
Describe the vehicle, passengers, journey type, licence entitlement and whether the work is paid or voluntary. These details can change the training and legal requirements.
Distinguish training from entitlement
MiDAS, fleet assessment and an advanced-driving course serve different purposes. Completing a course does not automatically add a driving-licence category or remove a CPC requirement.
Compare provider delivery
Check the trainer, location, vehicle, accessibility, assessment format and renewal arrangements. Ask how the course relates to the organisation’s own risk assessment and driver policy.
