Choose a clear purpose
Refresher lessons can focus on returning after a break, parking, a new car, motorway driving or confidence on unfamiliar roads. Explain the situation you want to handle more comfortably.
Compare the course approach
An advanced-driving programme, Pass Plus and an individually planned refresher lesson have different structures. Ask whether the training includes assessment, observation, private practice and feedback.
Use specialist assessment when appropriate
If a health or mobility change affects driving, seek the relevant official licensing guidance and a specialist assessment. A refresher instructor cannot decide a medical fitness-to-drive question.
