Use the Northern Ireland pathway
DVA licensing, theory testing and practical testing are administered separately from the Great Britain services. Use nidirect links and check that your licence is accepted for the test you intend to take.
Check the rules for your cohort
Graduated Driver Licensing is scheduled to begin on 1 October 2026. Which requirements apply depends on the official commencement and transition rules, not simply the date you visit this website.
Read the official GDL guidance and programme-of-training information for your circumstances. A Driving Sorted practice diary does not replace an official logbook or fulfil a statutory training requirement.
Compare like-for-like local data
NI centre outcomes come from DfI/DVA releases. Where a figure covers a quarter, it is labelled as a quarter; it is not presented as directly equivalent to a GB annual rate.
