Review the circumstances behind each fault
Read your result with your instructor and describe what was happening, what you noticed and what you decided. A fault label is a starting point for understanding, not a complete account of the drive.
Look for recurring patterns such as late observation, rushed decisions or difficulty managing unfamiliar instructions.
Plan focused practice
Agree a small set of goals and practise them in varied conditions. Record evidence of improvement rather than assuming another fixed block of lessons will solve everything.
If anxiety affected the drive, discuss practical teaching adjustments and a calm preparation routine. Driving instructors should not be presented as clinical specialists without appropriate evidence.
Rebook when the plan supports it
Check official retest and booking rules, the instructor’s availability and the extra costs. A retake fee is separate from lessons and test-day car use unless your written package says otherwise.
