Check the arrangements before driving away
Make sure the vehicle and insurance cover you as a newly qualified driver. Learner cover can end or change when you pass. Check the conditions before assuming the drive home is covered.
Build experience deliberately
Introduce unfamiliar journeys, darkness, adverse weather and busier roads in manageable steps. Further lessons can help with the situations you have not yet experienced.
For Northern Ireland, check the current new-driver and GDL requirements for your cohort.
Choose useful further training
Pass Plus, advanced driving and refresher lessons have different aims. Choose a course for the skills you want to build and confirm its content with the provider. An insurance discount is not guaranteed.
