Know who will teach you

Ask for your actual trainer, their qualifications and where sessions take place. A school’s national presence does not establish that a trainer is available in your area.

ORDIT is a voluntary register. Check the relevant listing directly and distinguish registration from a provider’s wider marketing claims.

Split the training hours

Record individual in-car tuition, shared in-car observation, classroom time, remote coaching and self-study separately. Ask whether an advertised total includes material you study on your own.

Check support for each part, mock assessments, retake support and the process if you change trainer or location.

Read the linked obligations

Discounts or refunds may depend on joining a franchise, staying for a period or paying recurring fees. Compare the total commitment, not just the initial training payment.

  • Who books and pays for each test?
  • What happens after an unsuccessful attempt?
  • What is refundable and when?
  • Are travel, accommodation, licence and DBS/AccessNI costs included?
